Privacy policy
Last updated 6 November 2026
We collect the minimum needed to quote, ship and support what you buy. This page states exactly what that is, who processes it, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
- Order and enquiry details
- Company, contact name, email, phone, delivery address, country, order notes.
- Order contents
- Part numbers, quantities, shipping method, amounts. We do not receive or store card numbers.
- Payment records
- Transaction reference, amount, status and timestamp from the payment provider.
- Correspondence
- Emails and WhatsApp messages you send us, kept so we can answer follow-up questions.
- Technical
- Standard server logs from our hosting provider: IP address, request path, timestamp, user agent.
What we do not collect
- No advertising or analytics pixels. There is no Google Analytics, Meta pixel or similar tracker on this site.
- No account or password — checkout does not require registration.
- No card data. Payment details are entered on the payment provider's own page, never on ours.
Cookies and local storage
We set no tracking cookies, which is why you do not see a cookie banner. Your cart is kept in your browser's local storage under the key rhinemeter_cart_v1 so it survives a page refresh; it never leaves your device until you submit an order. Clear your browser storage to remove it.
Who we share it with
- Payment provider
- PayPal — processes the payment and holds the transaction record.
- Email delivery
- Resend — sends order confirmations and shipping notices on our behalf.
- Hosting
- Cloudflare — serves the site and stores order records.
- Carriers
- DHL, FedEx or China Post — receive the name, address and phone number needed to deliver.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We disclose it beyond the list above only where required by law or by a customs authority.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 7 years, to meet accounting and tax obligations.
- Enquiries that did not become orders: 24 months, then deleted.
- Server logs: 30 days.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to processing, and receive it in a portable format. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email sales@rhinemeter.com. We respond within 30 days. We may ask for proof of identity before acting on a request, and we cannot delete records we are legally required to keep — in that case we will tell you which records and why.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Orders are governed by the version in force when the order was placed.
